2024 National Show Junior Photo Contest ABGA and JABGA are excited to offer a photo contest for youth members at the 2024 JABGA National Show. The goal of the contest is to highlight talented young individuals in the communications industry through their use of photography. One winner from each age division will be chosen. Winners will be announced during the JABGA Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, June 12th. All contestants must be members of JABGA. Divisions are: Junior (4-12), Senior (13-21). Only two photos per contestant is permitted. All submissions must be printed on an 8”x10” canvas or frame. All entries must be submitted by Tuesday, June 11th at 12pm. All photos must highlight the American Boer Goat. Photos may be taken around the farm or at an event. The American Boer Goat must be the focus of the picture. Photos may not be enhanced or edited, in any way. The Champion Photo in each age division will have the opportunity to be featured in the ABGA Digital Magazine. The Champion Overall Photo will have the choice to sell in the silent auction. If sold in the Silent Auction, funds raised will benefit the JABGA Scholarship Fund. All pictures may be used by the ABGA/ JABGA office for publication and promotions. 2024 National Show Adult Photo Contest ABGA will once again offer a photo contest for ABGA members. The winning photo will be calculated by the photo with the highest number of votes. The winning photo will be auctioned off during the awards banquet on June 12th. All contestants must be ABGA members. All submissions must be printed on an 8”x10” canvas or frame. All entries must be submitted by Tuesday, June 11th at 12pm. All photos must highlight the American Boer Goat. Photos may be taken around the farm or at an event. The American Boer Goat must be the focus of the picture. All photos will be on display during the JABGA Awards Ceremony. Attendees will vote on their favorite photo via electronic voting. The photo with the most votes at the conclusion of the Awards Ceremony will be the Champion Overall Photo. The Champion Overall Photo will sell in the silent auction. All raised funds will benefit the JABGA Scholarship Fund. All pictures may be used by the ABGA office for publication and promotions. Jordan Jelinek is currently the Treasurer of the Junior American Boer Goat Association Board of Directors, where she is proud to represent Area 1. She is currently a Junior at Richland High School but has chosen to graduate a year early to get a head start on her life in the Boer Goat Industry. Jelinek has grown up in Richland, Washington where she currently runs a herd of over 140 boer goats with her parents. She and her parents found a spot in the show world only a few years ago. Their herd, JDJ Farms, includes fullbloods, percentages, and wether genetics. The Jelineks have shown and sold animals all across the United States; in addition, they have exported animals to Hawaii and the Philippines. While juggling the goat herd, the family also breeds Australian Shepherds and is heavily involved in the FFA Organization. This is her first year on the Board of Directors. At her school she has served as the Richland FFA President and is currently the Washington District 4 President, and is serving as an FFA National Delegate. Between her farm and involvement in FFA, Jelinek’s schedule is filled with prepping her animals for shows and breeding while squeezing in several FFA practices. Her freshman year she was Washington State’s first place Creed Speaker. So there is no doubt she believes in the future of agriculture. Still unsure of where her spot in the agriculture industry is, after graduation Jelinek plans on attending more shows in different parts of the nation. While taking a deeper look at the process associated with becoming an embryologist. Jiles Coble currently serves as the Director for Area 4 for the Junior American Boer Goat Association (JABGA). He is currently a senior at Edmund Burke Academy. Coble grew up on his family’s dairy farm; the family also runs a row crop operation. He currently operates 3C’s Farm with his mother and sister, raising registered Boer goats. In addition to registered Boer goats, he also shows dairy heifers. When not farming and showing goats, Coble enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with his friends. Coble plans to attend the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Ga. To study agricultural business, and then return to the family farm. As a JABGA Director, Coble is excited to improve the JABGA member experience to reflect more equal opportunity and participation across the country. Jiles Coble Area 4

Sammy Lerena, and his wife, Taylor, reside in Lipan, Texas. They are the proud owners of Red Oak Ranch, and currently manage a herd of about 150 head. Sammy Lerena Sammy has been a member of ABGA since 2006 and achieved Certified Judge status in the spring of 2014. As a judge, he has officiated competitions in more than 24 states, including prestigious events like the ABGA National Show, Yellow Rose Classic at Ft Worth Stockshow, North American in Louisville, and the Houston Livestock Show. Apart from breeding competitive show goats, Sammy also runs a business focused on small ruminant reproduction.
