  • Create hit list/ideas for significant projects identified by the board

Affiliates
  • Establish a process for bringing on new affiliates

  • Identify what’s in it for them to be our affiliates

  • Increase the number of affiliates

Breed Standards
  • Review and refine areas of the breed standards

  • Minimize the up for interpretation areas for judges

DNA
  • Establish contract language and review with UC Davis

  • Put together education on SNIP process and testing

  • Make a plan for the funding that has been set aside

Finance
  • Review financial documentation for errors/ommissions 

  • Create areas of opportunity for transparency on all financial matters

  • Identify areas of potential savings and regions of revenue-generating sources

  • Identify a plan for budget reconciliation on deferred dues & income and deposits on accounts.

Grant Writing
  • Identify grant opportunities

  • Create boilerplate language for grant applications - Statement of need, sustainment plan, goals & objectives

Judges
  • Create a plan for professional development for judges to include a review of breed standards

  • Review the current judges list for active participation

  • Create a policy for judges on communication to show secretaries

  • Create a policy for commercial judges at JABGA sanctioned shows

Member Education
  • Plan for educating members on the rules 

  • Create a plan for the distribution of education to members

  • Work with office staff to create social media content

National Show
  • Review of all show materials

  • Create a procedure for the show management on disciplinary issues at the nationals

  • Review of national show rules to ABGA/JABGA rules

National Show Location
  • Long-term planning for locations of the National Show

  • Create a minimum standards bid specification packet

Purebred Breed Up
  • Plan of execution for the program

  • Review of any rules which might need modified to support the program

Regional Shows
  • Increase communication on regional shows and points systems to membership

  • Identify regional show sites and dates for 2025-2026 by March 1, 2025

Registered Wethers and Commercial Does
  • Identify partnership opportunities with commercial breeders

  • Identify plan for goat check-off

  • Build a sustainment plan for registered wethers/commercial does/commercial breeders

Rules, Regulations, and Bylaws
  • Review all our rules and bylaws over the second quarter and work with a bylaw attorney for recommendations for changes

  • Specifically review the drug policies for enhancements

  • Ensure that any changes made to the rules by the board are incorporated into the rule or bylaw documents

Staff and Board Policies
  • Create a policy for staff and board members on social media

  • Review of employee handbook

  • Work with attorney to ensure compliance and legality of all policies
