2023 Renewal Reminder
According to the Bylaws of ABGA, members must renew by January 1, 2023, in order to remain in good standing. You must be a member in good standing to do the following:
Vote in organizational elections (National Show Judges, ABGA and JABGA Board of Directors seats)
Maintain your ABGA Certified Judge status
Hold a seat on the ABGA or JABGA Board of Directors
Run for a seat on the ABGA or JABGA Board of Directors
ABGA will be processing membership renewals for 2023 through our new membership software, iCompete.

What is iCompete?
Like many breed associations and registries, ABGA has used third-party platforms for a long time. ABGA has used Agricultural Business Research Institute (ABRI) of Australia for several membership platforms, including iCompete.
iCompete is a new, streamlined software that is equipped to handle ABGA memberships, renewals, registry work, and show points in a single platform for all members and staff. It will eventually replace the Online Live and Blue Screen systems and provide ABGA members and staff with a consistent, easy-to-use interface.
ABGA is “rolling out” the iCompete software in three stages: Phase 1 (renewals/memberships), Phase 2 (registrations), and Phase 3 (shows/events). We encourage members to renew now using iCompete to improve and simplify their member experience going forward.
When is the last day to renew for 2023?
Members must be renewed by JANUARY 1, 2023, to continue their membership services (email and communication updates from ABGA and access to iCompete), vote in ABGA organizational elections, and remain ABGA members in good standing.
Members who do not renew by JANUARY 1, 2023, will not be eligible to vote in ABGA organizational elections, hold seats on the ABGA or JABGA Board of Directors, or run for seats on the ABGA or JABGA Board of Directors.
Can I still renew with ABGA via check and paper renewal form, or only through iCompete?
ABGA is excited to introduce this new software system to our members! We encourage members to renew now using iCompete to improve and simplify their member experience going forward.
We accept checks and ABGA renewal forms via mail or email (mail@abga.org). Forms should be sent via special mailing to ensure confirmed delivery.

Can I renew my ABGA membership over the phone?
ABGA does not accept membership renewals or permission to renew memberships by phone. Please contact the ABGA office at (325) 486-2242 or mail@abga.org with any questions or concerns about 2023 renewals or iCompete.
Can I renew a JABGA membership through iCompete?
Yes; adult members must renew for 2023 to renew associated JABGA memberships. Please renew your adult membership FIRST before renewing your associated JABGA membership.
I’m trying to renew as an adult in iCompete and I’m missing an associated JABGA membership. Should I still complete the renewal?
Do not complete your renewal for 2023 if you are missing an associated JABGA membership in iCompete.

JUDGES: Submit Your Team for the 2023 National Show
ABGA is now accepting submissions of eligible Judge's teams for the 2023 ABGA and JABGA National Show.
Judges are needed for the following shows:
ABGA National Show (Team of 3 judges)
JABGA National Show (Team of 2 judges)
JABGA National Bred & Owned Show / JABGA National Breeding Showmanship (Single judge)
JABGA National Market Goat Show / JABGA National Commercial Doe Show / JABGA National Market Showmanship (Single judge)
Judge's team submissions must be completed via this form by 5:00 PM CST on Friday, January 16, 2023. Submissions made past this deadline will not be considered to judge the 2023 ABGA and JABGA National Show.
Eligibility:
Each judge must be an ABGA member in good standing (renewed and dues paid for 2023 by January 1, 2023).
Each judge must be approved as a Level I ABGA Certified Judge by January 1, 2023.
Each judge may not have judged the JABGA National Market Goat show, the JABGA National Bred & Owned show, the JABGA National Show, or the ABGA National Show in 2022.
Each judge must reside in a separate ABGA region from the rest of their submitting team.
Each eligible judge may only be submitted on one (1) team to be considered to judge the 2023 ABGA National Show.
Each eligible judge may only be submitted on two (2) teams to be considered to judge the 2023 JABGA National Show.
Judges will be requested to talk reasons through at least 10th place in all show classes.
Judges will be required to use a placing method set forth and approved by the ABGA Board of Directors.

2023 National Show Superintendent Applications Open
Online applications for the 2023 National Show Superintendent positions are now open! Please complete the form below if you are interested in serving as a superintendent at the 2023 ABGA and JABGA National Show (June 10-18, 2023) in Louisville, Ky.
National Show Superintendents are responsible for the enforcement and adherence of all exhibitors to ABGA National Show Rules. They should be familiar with ABGA Rules and Regulations, ABGA National Show Ring Protocol, and JABGA Regional Show Rules, and have previous experience as show superintendents or ring stewards at ABGA and/or JABGA shows.
APPLICATIONS WILL CLOSE AT 5:00 PM CST on THURSDAY, DEC. 29, 2022.
2023 National Show Logo Contest
ABGA is now accepting submissions for our 2023 National Show logo contest.
Logo designs must:
Incorporate a “KENTUCKY DERBY” theme.
Be formatted in a 16:9 (rectangle) or 1:1 (square) ratio.
Be submitted as high-resolution PNG files with transparent backgrounds (PREFERRED).
Be received by JANUARY 3, 2023.
Submit your logo designs to nationalshow2023@abga.org by JANUARY 3, 2023.
