The opportunity to be involved with the JABGA Board of Directors will enhance leadership skills, teach teamwork, and provide preparation for a successful career. Junior members elect two candidates by ballot from each of the five areas to represent their area.  The responsibilities of a JABGA Board member are to provide governance, direction, fundraising ideas and promotion of Boer goats.  Approval of implementation of programs within the Junior American Boer Goat Association is provided by the Youth Committee and the ABGA Board of Directors.

  • Grace Coulston
    Dayton, WA

    Hi, my name is Grace Coulston I am a 16 year old Sophomore at Waitsburg Highschool. I live with my Mom,Melanie Gagnon, also my Grandpa, and Grandma, Jim and Mary Atteberry. Our farm is located in Dayton Washington. My mom and grandma have their seperate farm name, ( Whiskey Creek Boer Goats) and when I began,showing JABGA I started up my own farm under the name (Sorghum Hollow Boer Goats) together we own amd operate our goat herd of about thityfive boer goats. I’ve been raising boer goats since I was five years old have shown in 4H and FFA at my local county fairs. Although my first love is competing at ABGA shows around my region. I started showing in the ABGA and became a member of the JABGA three years ago and have been addicted ever since. I love every minute of showing and raising boer goats and look forward to serving on the JABGA board as one of your region one director. Serving on the JABGA Board has been a goal for me since I first became a member of the ABGA. I am extremely excited to learn as much as I promote the Boer Goat industry in any way possible.

    Hi, my name is Halie McCloud. I am 17 years old and am a senior at Molalla High School. I currently am my FFA chapter’s treasurer and shoot with my high school’s trap team. I’ve been raising goats for about 8 years now and love it. I’m honored to be one of the area one directors and look forward to helping promote the Meat Goat industry

    Hello, my name is Mikayla Wetherell and I am 18 years old. I am a freshman at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois working towards getting my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I am a returning JABGA director and this is my third year representing Area 2. I have been raising and showing fullblood Boer goats with my family for the past eleven years. Throughout high school, I was an active member and an active participant in 4-H, 4-H Federation, FFA, and the Illinois Meat Goat Producers. Last year, I served as the Illinois Meat Goat Producers Ambassador and was proud to represent the industry at state wide ABGA shows. I look forward to meeting new people, growing our youth program with new opportunities, and growing in an industry that I have been involved in and passionate about on the local, regional, and national level.

    My name is Savannah Hughes and I am one of the Area 2 JABGA Directors. I am from Sidney, Illinois and I am a sophomore at Unity High School. I play volleyball and I also participate in track and field. I am 15 years old and this is my first year on the JABGA Board of Directors, serving a 2 year term. I showed swine for 4 years and in 2012, I got my first 2 goats and decided that goats is what I want to stick with. I am very active in 4H, FFA, I currently serve as the IMGP Central Region Senior Ambassador, I am serving as the Champaign County Livestock Club Secretary for the second year, and I am the JIMGP Secretary. I look forward to making friendships that last a lifetime, traveling to different shows across the country, learning more about the industry, and working with future generations to increase the numbers in the industry.

    My name is SJ Goodwin, I’m very proud to be representing region 3 on the JABGA board! I’m 17 years old & I live in LEWISBURG, WV. My parents Doug & Leigh Ann along with my brother Henry & sister Bryleigh & myself own & operate our family farm Goodwin Farms where we raise quality America Boer goats, grass feed beef & we have a small registered cattle herd! I’m getting ready to start my Junior year at Greenbier East High School! I’m a member of the Central Willing Workers 4-H club where I’m a member of Greenbrier Co. Livestock judging team & I’m also a member of the LEWISBURG United Methodist church youth group!After high school I hope to continue my Livestock Judging & major in agricultural field! I enjoy showing & being involved in the Boer goat industry & look forward to my next two years on the JABGA Board promoting positive attributes of the American Boer goat and striving for ways to archive economic growth in our industry!

    I am a returning JABGA director for Area 3 and I’m very pleased to serve as President of the Junior Association. I am a senior at Musselman High School in Inwood, WV and very active in my FFA chapter where I am currently holding the office of President. I am also involved in 4-H and have been raising Boer goats for 10 years. I really enjoy helping other breeders at ABGA and JABGA shows. I have a strong passion for livestock judging and have been honored to judge on the WV 4-H Livestock Judging Team and compete at the National contest in Louisville. I am very pleased to see that goats are being added to more of these contests, which means the trend of Boer goats is gaining more respect in the livestock world. I look forward to working on new ideas for the JABGA and building programs that all youth can benefit from.

    Hi my name is William Carbino and I am extremely honored to be serving Area 4 as one of its directors on the JABGA board! I am 16 years old and I am entering my junior year at DeLand High School in DeLand, Florida. My Mother, Father, and I run a small scale breeding meat goat operation and our goal is to breed quality registered does and bucks! I am a member of the Legend and Volusia Show Pride 4-h chapters and an officer in the DeLand Sr. FFA chapter and the East Coast FFA Federation! I am on my FFA’s livestock judging team and I compete in various public speaking competitions. After high school I plan to major in Agriculture Education and continue my judging career. I look forward to promoting the fastest growing livestock industry in the world and help educate the public about the Boer Goat!

    Hello, my name is Morganne Savage. I am 17 years old, and I am starting my senior year at Valley Springs High School. I live on a small farm outside of Harrison, Arkansas. I started raising and showing boer goats 10 years ago, and recently started exhibiting hogs as well. I am very active in all school clubs, including FFA, FBLA, and FCCLA. This is my third year representing Area 4 on the National JABGA Board, and I am excited to hold the office of reporter for this year’s term.



  • Sydney Baty- Vice President
    Loveland, Colorado

    Sydney Baty is a senior at Berthoud High School. She plans to run for a state FFA office this coming spring. She is heavily involved in 4-H and FFA. She has served as her 4-H clubs treasure
    and had been the secretary of her FFA chapter where she is the president now. She shows both breeding and market goats and any show she gets the chance to got to. Sydney also shows steers and rabbits. She has been on the Latimer county judging team the past few years and has become successful. She plans to continue in the agriculture industry and also the goat industry.
  • Clint Demmitt- Treasurer
    Bridgeport, Texas

    I am 15 years old and a Sophomore at Paradise High School. I am actively involved in basketball and baseball, as well as FCA and FFA. I am the 2nd Vice President of my 4-H club, and participate on the Wise County Livestock Judging Team. I am a current member of the OBGA, ETGRA, and have been a member of the JABGA for 10 years. My family and I have raised goats as long as I can remember. Currently we have around 30 does and 5 bucks. I enjoy showing my goats at ABGA/JABGA shows. I have been blessed to show and win both at the county, state, and national level. This past year I had the Reserve Grand Champion fullblood doe in the youth show at San Antonio as well as the JABGA National Champion Buck and ABGA Reserve National Champion Buck. Showing has allowed me to meet a lot of people and make some really good friends. I am excited about the opportunity of serving on the JABGA board this year. I will do everything I can to represent our well.
